Microsoft Convergence takeaway: CRM synchronization for multiple email systems

Many European companies have heterogeneous IT infrastructures. This was one of the key takeaways from Microsoft Convergence 2013 EMEA in Barcelona. Microsoft customers not only need direct Exchange integration for Microsoft Dynamics CRM and NAV, but they also desperately require server-side CRM synchronization for IBM Notes and Novell GroupWise.

Greifenburg/Munich, 12 December 2013 – Riva CRM Integration (, the first CRM integration platform to deliver server-side synchronization for multiple CRM and email systems, was a first-time exhibitor at Microsoft Convergence 2013 EMEA. More than 3,000 Microsoft customers attended the 3-day event in Barcelona. Attendees came to learn about the latest news and developments regarding Microsoft Dynamics. The last Microsoft Convergence gathering in EMEA was held in Copenhagen in 2008.

Many Microsoft Dynamics CRM customers rely on Riva to deliver reliable, server-side synchronization for Microsoft Exchange, Office 365, and Hosted Exchange environments. Both of Riva’s editions, Riva Cloud and Riva On-Premise, deliver this without needing to install or manage any additional Outlook plug-ins or mobile applications. Riva also synchronizes Dynamics CRM Online and On-Premises to IBM Notes (formerly Lotus Notes) and Novell GroupWise.

By synchronizing Dynamics CRM to four leading corporate email platforms, it means companies can deploy Dynamics CRM with the assurance that all users will be able to sync CRM data to their preferred email client and mobile device. In addition to supporting all Windows Outlook clients, Riva seamlessly and transparently syncs CRM contacts, calendars, tasks, email, and other data to Outlook Web App (OWA), Outlook for Mac, Apple Mail, Outlook on Citrix, IBM Notes, iNotes, and Novell GroupWise. From a mobile perspective, Dynamics CRM and NAV customers benefit from native CRM integration for the latest Exchange ActiveSync, IBM Notes Traveler, and GroupWise Data Synchronizer smartphones and tablets, including iPad, iPhone, Android, BlackBerry, Windows Phone, and Microsoft Surface devices.

Microsoft sales reps, key account managers, partners, and customers visited the Riva booth at Convergence EMEA 2013 to learn more about Riva’s support for any combination of on-premise and online SaaS versions of Microsoft Dynamics CRM, Exchange, Office 365, IBM Notes, and Novell GroupWise. With Riva, for example, customers are not limited to direct Exchange integration for only on-premise/on-premise or online/online versions of Dynamics CRM and Exchange. This makes Riva a nice asset for companies that manage mixed and multiple email systems as a result of mergers and acquisitions and for companies who are in the process of migrating from one email platform to another.

Convergence attendees were impressed with the breadth of CRM data that Riva synchronizes. Besides synchronizing the basics – contacts, leads, calendar events, and tasks – Riva can automatically or selectively track emails to Dynamics CRM accounts, contacts, opportunities, cases, and custom objects. Riva’s advanced integration and interoperability enable sales reps to create new opportunities and new cases from emails using their desktop client or mobile devices. Riva can also be configured to sync Dynamics CRM opportunities, cases, quotes, orders, service activities, recurring events, custom fields, custom objects, and custom categories. Dynamics CRM customers benefit from over five years of Riva development and customer feedback. And we work with some of the largest corporations in the world as well as a wide array of SMBs across multiple industry sectors.

“We were excited with the feedback we received from Microsoft Convergence attendees,” said Dr.-Ing. Thomas Fleissner, Riva CRM Integration Europe. “Riva is really in a league of its own in terms of its advanced integration options, native mobile CRM integration support, and server-side synchronization capabilities for four corporate email systems. Riva helps European companies of all sizes improve Dynamics CRM adoption and provide a more seamless integration experience across all email clients and mobile devices.”
