Riva sponsors ninth annual MWLUG conference in Washington, D.C.

Social collaboration professionals recently gathered in Washington, D.C., for the ninth annual Midwest Lotus User Group (MWLUG) conference.

The 3-day conference was held at the Hilton Mark Center in Alexandria, VA, from August 8-10, 2017. There were a record number of attendees (including many first-timers), over 60 presentations, and 40 senior IBMers at the event. MWLUG 2017 sponsors included Riva CRM Integration (our fourth year in a row to sponsor MWLUG), IBM, panagenda, Red Pill Now, BCC, Cisco, Sia by Opentopic, PSC, Ytria, Crossware Mail Signature, Martin Scott, Prominic, TeamCentric, workplaceON, teamstudio, and others.

The event kicked off with a Sponsor Showcase Reception on Tuesday, August 8. Richard Moy and Dave Navarre led the Opening General Session on Wednesday, August 9, with Ed Brill from IBM as a featured speaker. We all enjoyed hearing a presentation by a retired lawyer who shared his experience working as a guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington National Cemetery.

During Opening General Session, Riva’s VP Marketing and Sales delivered a brief Riva overview and invited attendees to attend Riva’s session on The Connected Workforce: Social Collaboration + CRM Integration delivered by Ken Lorenz, Riva’s Director of Sales and Alliances, Americas.

MWLUG attendees enjoyed the evening social event at the New District Brewing Company. MWLUG 2017 wrapped up on August 10 with more collaboration sessions, the Exhibitor Showcase, and the Closing General Session. Special thanks to Richard Moy and all of the MWLUG members who helped plan and put together MWLUG 2017. (They were easy to spot because they all wore yellow bowties this year!)
