Getting started – Riva CRM Integration for iPad
Need to sync CRM contact and calendar information to the native address book and calendar applications on your iPad? Riva delivers server-side synchronization of CRM accounts, contacts, leads, appointments, meetings, phone calls, tasks, opportunities, cases, quotes and custom CRM objects to the iPad. Take advantage of the iPad’s large screen and native functionality.
With Riva, there are no additional CRM plug-ins or mobile applications to install on your iPad for the synchronization to occur. Riva is compatible with all the leading CRM systems – Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, Sugar, Oracle CRM On Demand, NetSuite, SageCRM, Sage SalesLogix, GoldMine and others. You will need either an on-premise or hosted Microsoft Exchange or Novell GroupWise systems to get started.
Prior to working through the steps below, you will need to install and configure Riva Integration Server (or set up a Riva Live account). Please refer to the Riva Documentation and Videos section for more information.
How to set up your Exchange or GroupWise email account on the iPad
Step 1: Set up your Exchange or GroupWise email account on your iPad by going to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendar. You will need to enter your email account, server domain, username and password. Riva is compatible with SSL to keep your communications and CRM information secure on the iPad.
Step 2: Work through the options on this screen to configure how emails are displayed on your iPad.
Step 3: Next, move the slider to “On” if you would like to sync Mail, Contacts and Calendars to the iPad.
Step 4: Select the number of mail days you would like to sync. In this case, we’ve selected “No Limit.”
Step 5: Now select the Exchange or GroupWise email folders you would like to push to your iPad.
Sync CRM contacts to the iPad address book
Riva automatically syncs CRM contacts, accounts and leads to your iPad’s native address book. This allows you to take advantage of the iPad’s large screen size and native interactivity – rather than trying to view CRM contact information from a small browser window.
Sync CRM calendar data to the iPad calendar
Riva syncs CRM appointments, meetings, phone calls and tasks to the iPad’s native calendar application. Create new appointments or modify existing calendar items and they will be synchronized to your CRM (or vice versa).
Manage CRM opportunities, cases and quotes directly from your mobile device
Riva goes beyond CRM plug-ins for iPad by allowing you to view and manage your CRM opportunities, cases and quotes directly from the iPad in connected or disconnected modes. Select the “Opportunities” folder on your iPad to see a full list of your CRM opportunities. Select a specific opportunity to see an email summary of the opportunity.
Riva SmartConvert and AssignTo Folders on your iPad
Riva introduces powerful automation features that reduce manual data entry and give salespeople more strategic selling time. Use Riva AssignTo Folders to archive emails against CRM accounts, contacts, opportunities, cases or quotes. Move (copy) emails into the “Create New Opportunity” folder and Riva will automatically create the account, contact(s) and opportunity in the CRM and sync the information back down to your iPad. Riva SmartConvert saves salespeople 5-7 minutes per converted email.
